I have spent years returning to the same kinds of places—not because they are dramatic, but because they reward patience. Weathered granite. Winter fields. Coastlines under muted light. I’m drawn to environments where attention matters more than spectacle, and where subtle shifts in light reveal more than bold color ever could.
Over time, I realized this wasn’t just an aesthetic preference. It was a way of seeing that had been forming in me for years.
My faith is foundational to how I see the world and how I make art. I believe beauty is not accidental but given—that creation carries the imprint of its Creator, and that our ability to recognize and respond to it is itself a gift. Photography, for me, is not about inventing meaning or manufacturing mood. It is an act of attention—a response to what has already been formed, sustained, and set before us.
That conviction shapes my restraint. I am less interested in impressing the viewer than in honoring what is there. I work slowly. I return to places repeatedly. I wait for light that reveals structure rather than overwhelms it. The result is a body of work grounded in tonal depth, material presence, and quiet strength.
The Hushwood Collection grew out of this long practice. These works are not departures from my larger catalog but distillations—images chosen for their ability to hold weight and mood without shouting, to introduce calm without emptiness, and to live with integrity in thoughtfully designed spaces.
I believe the world has been made with intention. My work translates that beauty and clarity into objects meant to endure.
